Afrimass Network Hosts National Election Conference 2024: Martha Acquah and Kweku Owusu-Peprah to Lead Insights on Electoral Journalism

The Afrimass Network, in partnership with The High Street Journal, is excited to present the Maiden Edition of the National Election Conference 2024, happening today, Tuesday, 10th September 2024 at GH Media School, Mega Studio. Themed “Electoral Journalism: The Vital Role of Newsroom in National Election Coverage”, the event will focus on the significant contribution of journalism in shaping electoral discourse, ensuring transparency, and maintaining democratic processes during national elections.

This maiden edition will feature a diverse lineup of speakers from Ghana’s leading media houses, including seasoned journalists and media managers who have been at the forefront of election coverage and news management.

Featured Speakers:

•   Kweku Owusu-Peprah

Serving as the Channel Manager of JoyNews, Kweku Owusu-Peprah has been pivotal in guiding the channel’s election coverage. He is recognized for his award-winning contributions to Ghanaian journalism, including being named GJA Journalist of the Year (2010). His leadership at JoyNews is characterized by a commitment to credible and comprehensive news coverage, particularly during critical national events like the upcoming 2024 general elections.
• Martha Acquah
A seasoned journalist and the News Editor at Adom Brands (Multimedia Group), Martha Acquah has built a stellar career in Ghanaian journalism since 2006. She plays a crucial role in managing Adom’s news content, ensuring high journalistic standards, and leading her team in delivering accurate and timely news. With a passion for quality journalism, Martha continues to influence the editorial landscape of Ghanaian media.
• Clifford Ladzepko
Deputy Director of Academics at GH Media School and Head of School, Clifford Ladzepko will also be sharing his perspectives on the role of media training in preparing future journalists for covering national elections.
• Joyce Nyame
Program Manager at YouthBridge Foundation, Joyce Nyame’s work focuses on empowering youth to participate in democratic processes, including election coverage and political engagement.
• Raymond Smith
The CEO of Afrimass Network, Raymond Smith will be hosting this important event and contributing his extensive expertise in media and electoral journalism.
